Mandy looked absolutely gorgeous on her wedding day, in her 50’s inspired wedding gown.
Mandy’s wedding took place at her family’s farm in Armidale NSW and therefore she didn’t want that traditional full length ball gown style dress, not only did she think it would not be appropriate but she didn’t think that was who she was. Mandy opted for the short 50’s inspired wedding gown instead and it suited her in every way.
The dress was waisted with an organza ruched bodice, which was emphasised with a satin belt. The dress had a full gathered satin skirt with an organza overlay that ended just below the knee. Mandy wore a tulle petticoat underneath the dress, to give the dress a fuller look. The gown is embellished with pearls to form a halter neck and finished with a handmade organza flower. It is fantastic to see brides still drawing inspiration from vintage gowns.
